Each camp is planned and constructed in remote locations to enhance your personalized journey.

Who sets up your campsite and takes care of you?

We at Kristen Meckem Travel spend years cultivating relationships with our “boots on the ground” suppliers. So whether it’s luxury tents in a national park, or trips across the world, we work with trusted suppliers who take care of you. If there’s one thing this year has taught everybody, it’s the value of someone to take care of you when things go bump in the night . Our trusted suppliers with boots on the ground are there to make the amazing experience even more nourishing and treasured. And when something does go bump in the night, our suppliers will care for you as if your mom herself was cherishing and supporting you. Our luxury tented experiences our handled by the best in the business.

What to Expect

Luxury glamping camps give you fantastic access to our national parks (where accommodations lack and or are hard to come by.) While driving to the private campsite in the remote wilderness of a National Park or Forest, you will notice an absence of other people in the area, allowing you to enjoy the seclusion and tranquility the camp provides.

Upon arrival, the camp host will greet you with a cold drink (make mine a Dirty Goose, extra dirty, three olives, on the rocks with a splash of water, please), and something to eat while you get a tour and introduction to your accommodations. Cheers to that!!

Accommodations

Luxury canvas tents will have a Queen or Twin beds. For those travelling with small children, there are optional bunk beds to accommodate the littles. Next to the beds are, side tables, luggage racks, and a nice rug. Just outside the tent entrance, there is a patio which offers a scenic place to sit and relax. Fear of outdoor potties? Not to worry! Behind each tent, there is a private flushing toilet and hand washing station. Each campsite also offers hot water, on demand showers after a day out experiencing the great outdoors. Rinse and relax!

Meals

Every meal at camp is freshly prepared and crafted based on your preferences and dietary needs. The backcountry kitchen can present everything from baked goods prepared in Dutch Ovens over the coals to meals over the campfire, increasing intrigue and adding a unique flavor to meats. Talk about a dining experience to remember!

Activities

When not exploring the surrounding region, guests can relax in the outdoor living space with comfortable chairs, games and books. Depending on the campsite, there are nearby options including mountain biking, canyoneering, kayaking and more. Private guiding? Absolutely!

Most of us think of a sundowner 'happy hour' during a sunset over the African Bush as you round off your afternoon adventure. Sundowner is not just for African safaris.
